You know, I never really got into Full Metal. I'm rather new to the whole Anime scene. InuYasha was my gateway drug, which led to Death note, Code Geass, and even though is not REALLY anime, The Avatar....which I'm addicted to.

I might have to try to get into this one.

I love Fullmetal Alchemist, and I'm really interested to see how this new series works out. If nothing else, I get to see more of Mustang being sexy (teehee).
You think that Code Geass looks bad? I love the way Code Geass is drawn. I know it's a very angular style and the people have many hair colors, but how can you not think the Lancelot is AWESOME! And Lelouch is freaking attractive, especially when he uses his graceful hand gestures to reveal his geass.

I knew the series was coming out, but I didn't know it had already aired its first episode!!! FMA was the first anime I actually liked. It's what made me realize that not all anime is detestable crap. Thanks for the link!

just watched it, and the animation quality was just beautiful. Just about movie quality. You don't see that very often in any television animation, japanese or otherwise.

I'm just sort of confused, though. Obviously, this doens't take place after the movie. They're not in Germany, and Maes Hughes isn't dead...so is this entire series going to take place within the timespan of the first series? (very early on, in fact?) That sounds like it might be difficult to pull off.

From what I understand, this is a basically redoing of the anime, that will follow more closely to the manga than the first series did. Apparently, the creator of the manga will take part in this series, since she was not a part of the first FMA.

I agree, the animation was freaking fantastic - I missed Ed's funny faces!

Oh god. Inuyasha stole 3 YEARS of my life that I will never get back, lol. I couldn't get into the Death Note anime, although I couldn't put the manga down, lol. Do give FMA a try - it's got an amaaazing story, and it's hilarious, and Roy Mustang is quite the anime babe ;D

I just can't get past the drawing style - the faces especially. Plus, I just can't get into the story, I do put it on for background noise on Sat nights when I'm home. If it makes you feel any better, I don't like Bleach either ;D

I guess I know what you mean. Something can have an amazing story, but if I can't get past the drawing style, then it's all for naught. Kind of like Watchmen. I picked it up once to try and read it, but I just could not stand how the people were drawn. I know that it's won several awards and is one of the greatest graphic novels/stories of all time, but I just can't get myself to read it.
